On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through upon weakness of which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice and nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure

Energy, Bandwidth & Resource Model

Unlike Ethereum's gas model, TRON uses an Energy and Bandwidth system. Users freeze TRX to obtain these resources, making most transactions effectively free for power users. This unique model enables USDT-TRC20 transfers at a cost of less than $0.001 per transaction, underpinning TRON's dominance in stablecoin settlement. Super Representatives (SR) — 27 elected nodes — validate all blocks and receive TRX rewards every 3 seconds.

Block Production & Consensus

TRON uses Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS), where 27 Super Representatives are elected by TRX holders who stake their tokens as Tron Power. The hierarchy of SR and SR Candidates is readjusted every 6 hours based on voting. Block time is approximately 3 seconds, enabling fast transaction finality. Freezing TRX earns both Tron Power (for governance voting) and network resources (Energy + Bandwidth).

  • Network TPS: 2,000+ transactions per second
  • Block time: ~3 seconds per block
  • Average tx fee: $0.0003 (vs Ethereum $2.45)
  • Super Representatives: 27 elected validators
